Girls, have you got the potential to become a glamour model?   Or even just starting in glamour modelling, (yes, I'm hoping that some female models and or potential models see this page).   If you are interested in becoming a model, or have just started modelling please take 5 or 10 minuets to have a read through these tips. They will I hope, be of help to you, irrespective the photographer(s) you work with, and could also save you more than just time.

If you have tried, or would like to try glamour modelling, then I would like to hear from you.
The type of model(s) I am looking for would be between 18 and 26, and be willing to do publication work for mens magazines.

OK, you don't know me from Adam, can you trust me?
Well the answers are, True and Yes, hopefully my gallery will prove I already know and work with some well know models. If you are still unsure, which I fully understand, then you could contact LA Studios, this is a photographic studio in Leeds, where you could talk to Allan or Larreta. I would also recommend that you read the notes below, even more so if you are new to glamour modelling.   For new models, I am willing to work PFT.

There are several 'qualifications' you need to be a glamour model, and there not the same as a fashion model. Some of these comments may be a little blunt and obvious, (sorry).

  1. If your under 18, then your going to have to wait a bit before you can do any 'glamour' modelling. But please feel free to read these notes.
  2. You do need to be attractive, both face and body, this does not mean you need to be 6' tall and only 5 stone, nor do you need a 40-22-34 figure with legs that start at your armpits. You need a body that's in proportion, at the end of the day, different people have different ideas as to what is attractive. Just as you may like pink, and I may like blue. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!
  3. You also need to be very confident about your own body, not just happy, but proud and very confident.
  4. It is hard work, not a holiday camp, the hours can be quite anti-social, you don't mind working until 10:30 - 11:00 on a Friday and Saturday night do you? Or having to get up at 4:30am? good, (the good news is that this happens on odd occasions, not every day).
  5. It can pay, but only once you are known and in demand. Its the demand that creates the money, not the job, you end up working more often and more hours per day!
There only a very small number (like Kate Moss) who will ever make major money from modelling, these models also tend to be fashion / catwalk models, not glamour models.
  6. Sad or colourful as life is, as a model your libel to be the butt of cheap jokes and a number of comments that you may prefer not to hear. So your going to need to able to think quick on your feet, and give back as good as you get. Or very thick skinned, and just ignore them.

If you are still interested, in being a model or have just started modelling, then you could have a look at the 'tips for models' page, also having a look at 'the gallery' , will give you a guide as to what may be expected of you as a glamour model.
Photographers new to glamour may also benefit from reading them, as it could save some embarrassment (on both sides of the lens) later.

I'm still interested in modelling.
